Kenny Loggins & Stevie Nicks - Whenever I Call You Friend (1978)

July 29, 1978 - 43 Years Ago Today: Kenny Loggins debuted at No. 90 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with his single, "Whenever I Call You 'Friend'." This Loggins/Melissa Manchester-penned song became Loggins' first single to crack the Top 40 following his split as one-half of Loggins & Messina with ex-partner, Jim Messina. This single was sung as a duet with Stevie Nicks who had risen to prominence in 1975 as one of two new members of Fleetwood Mac along with her ex-partner, Lindsey Buckingham. This single climbed all the way to No. 5 where it peaked at October 28, 1978. It was covered by Manchester on her self-titled album the following year.
