Donna Summer - Heaven Knows (1978)

January 13, 1979 - 42 Years Ago Today: Donna Summer had the Hot Shot Debut at No. 77 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with her single, "Heaven Knows." The single was written by Summer with Pete Bellotte and Giorgio Moroder and was billed as Donna Summer with Brooklyn Dreams and was the follow-up to her first No. 1 single, "MacArthur Park," and peaked at No. 4 on March 17, 1979. It was her third of eight consecutive Top Tens on the Billboard Hot 100 and her 5th of 14 Top Tens in total. It was her fifth of 11 Gold certified singles which also included three Platinum certifications. "Heaven Knows," was part of the "MacArthur Park Suite" medley on Side 4 of her No. 1 double-album opus, "Live And More," which also became the first of three record-breaking consecutive No. 1 double albums. It was followed by 1979's "Bad Girls," and 1979's "On The Radio: Greatest Hits-Volumes I & II." "MacArthur Park Suite" ("MacArthur Park/One Of A Kind/Heaven Knows/MacArthur Park (reprise)") was Summer's seventh chart-topper on the Billboard Disco Top 100 (now referred to as the Billboard Dance Songs Chart). Donna Summer was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
